The recording reflects the sound of the room. Boomy.
The show is remarkable. I was expecting something akin to the shows I've heard, 2/19 Providence and 2/20 Brooklyn Bowl.
After rocking out for much of the first set, the band starts taking up these wonderfully sparse, minimalistic passages where they layer the jams with beautiful themes.
Listen to "In the Kitchen." I love those silent hits where the lights go to black, and flash back in with the band in unusual ways.
The whole second set is really amazing. I don't know the full spectrum of this band's potential. I've only been checking them out for about a month. Nonetheless, I can't get enough of this show. This is a much bigger, more open and sophisticated sound than I've heard from them before. Spectacular event!
